When french met fried – the world of curated vintage got better

let’s start with…

Collaboration origins aka How it all began

First, French Fried Vintage is a small, local, women-owned business and Knoxville’s original vintage clothing store! They carry vintage clothing and accessories from all eras, but focus on fashions from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

In 2023, French Fried Vintage moved from their original brick and mortar location to a new location at the heart of Knoxville – Emory Place! Emory Place, home of Crafty Bastard, Pivot Point Gallery, and Lilienthal Gallery while still growing to include other women and artist based small businesses.  With this new opportunity, came the idea to also “buckle” down on their digital branding as well, thus a collaboration began!

let’s remember the important stuff…

Services rendered aka what j-bird did to help

  • Consulted on their digital branding and how best to represent their ecletic and ever changing vibe in a way that allowed their website to best represent both the owners, and their business
  • Project managed the consolidation of their digital assets (such as images, videos, and articles in the media) to ensure the new site touched on each of these successes
  • Managed getting any new logos from collaborators such as Steph Wadman of The Fold Designs and the logos she provided for the project
  • Ensured any contact forms collected the information the owners needed, and that email notifications went to their business email
  • Connected their business Instagram to the website (good for SEO)
  • Started running analytics on the site to track traffic, bounce rates, and devices used to view the website

the best part of it all…

Empowering & positive outcomes

This new web presence and branding allowed Jenny, the French, and April, the Fried, to keep their eclectic and fun personalities while also organizing their services and offerings in a way that allows users to learn more about them, find their new location easily, contact them via a form on their website, and learn about their coverage in the media of the years (not to mention their being FAMOUS from being on Swap Shop – linked for proof).

From imagery, to playful designs, this website may be small – but it is mighty in the way it allows for locals and those traveling through to find this Knoxville gem in search of the perfect, and sustainable, vintage pieces! From pins to sunglasses to tchotchkes – French Fried Vintage is an immersive shopping experience.
